BESPOKE EMBROIDERED Weird Jumper
INSPIRED BY - Lewis Carroll
The brilliant British writer those wild imagination conjured up some of literatures most iconic characters. Writer of Alice in wonderland and fantastical poetry such as the Jabberwocky, he developed a completely new suggestive way of mixing the English language with non-sensical vocabulary. Lewis was also a gifted mathematician, photographer and inventor. He came from a high- church Anglican family. He was very academically gifted and by the age of 7 he was reading books such as the pilgrim’s progress. He always spoke with a stammer and at boarding school was badly bullied and may have even suffered abuse. As he grew older, he under took the role of protector to younger boys at the school. He was exceptionally academically gifted but found life an irresistible distraction and so was never dedicated to his studies. He later taught at Christ church college in Oxford, during which time he created Alice of wonderland, the mad hatter, white rabbit and infamous queen of hearts. He was great friends with Gabrielle Rossetti, William Holman Hunt and many others from the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood, exploring romantic love, sexual attraction and fantastical ideas through art, poetry, photography and literature.
