Never short of wit — or whisky — Churchill mastered understatement as an art form. His wry remark, “No comment is a rather splendid expression” captures the quintessentially British ability to say everything by saying nothing at all.

Born in 1874, Churchill was a statesman, writer, and wartime leader whose speeches stirred nations and whose turn of phrase became legend. Awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his mastery of historical and oratorical prose, he combined courage with charisma, and humour with humanity.

Care Instructions

We want you to enjoy wearing your beautiful Fund jumper for years to come. We therefore recommend that you wash it by hand so that it stays in perfect condition.

 

Handwash at 20 degrees in warm water using cashmere or wool shampoo.

 

To dry lay flat at room temperature. Do not tumble dry.
